The Black/Purple Diver is a hand-tied surface diver fly built with synthetic hair and foam. It floats at rest, then dives on the strip, leaving a trail of bubbles and a soft sound that imitates a dying baitfish.
Peacock bass don't always want it loud.

WHY THIS DIVER FLY
Sometimes predators don't want loud noise. That's where the diver shines.
* Softer sound. Quieter than a popper, for fish that shy away from heavy commotion.
* Bubbles. It still creates a trail of bubbles as it moves.
* Dives and rises. With every strip it dives under the surface, then rises back up, imitating a sick or wounded baitfish. It can be irresistible.
HOW TO FISH IT
Gear
* Rod: 8 to 10 weight
* Line: floating, sinking or intermediate
* Leader: 20 to 40 lb, 9 ft max with a floating line, or 6 ft max with a sinking or intermediate line
How to fish it
* Cast to the banks.
* Work the diver along drop-offs.
* Fish it near structure.
* Use it in deeper areas.
* Try the beaches in the afternoon.
* Drift it in currents, then strip once it reaches slow water.
Retrieve
Strip with pauses so the fly dives, and let it rise back up before continuing.
